CHECK THESE OUT

Check this out - it is a beautiful video clip put together by one of the poets on another site that I am on.

His name is +P. J. Bayliss and I was just blown away by this.  Great words, music and haunting photographic images.  Those eyes seem to connect with your soul.  Grab yourself a cofffee and take a few minutes out of your busy day to watch this - you won't be sorry you did but keep a box of tissues close handy, you might need them.

Breaks your heart doesn't it?  You all give those kids an extra cuddle tonight - we are so lucky here in Australia that we are relatively untouched by wars

Thank you Pee Jay for allowing me to use this

Cheers

Maureen

These are some stats from a recent email showing the cattle trains at Helen Springs Station.

Get a handle on this if you can.

·         There are 17 trucks with 3 trailers and 2 decks per trailer;
·         Therefore there are 102 decks of cattle and there would be
          approximately 28 cattle per deck;
·         This totals 2,856 head of cattle
·         The cattle will weigh approximately 500kg
·         The sale price for cattle at Longreach is approx. 165c/kg
·         Each animal will therefore be sold at $825.
·         Total revenue from this analysis is $2,356,200

·         Another interesting fact:

o   Each trailer has 24 tyres plus a dolly with 8 tyres
o   Each vehicle therefore has 62 tyres (not including spares)
o   For the 72 trucks there are 4,464 tyres on the road..

I love a sunburnt country
